Skipper Kane Williamson being ruled out of the first two matches in ODI series, New Zealand suffered heavy blow against India. Vijay Vallabh New Zealand team physio advised Williamson to rest as Test series are near and he is still recovering from inflamed AC Joint.
Vallab said “ It’s best for his recovery and to avoid winding up the joint for the next few days.”
“ He continues to be in fitness training sessions this week and will continue to bat again on Friday, being available for game three next Tuesday.”
Willaimson being absent, Tom Latham will lead the team and the 29 year old is replaced by left hander Mark Chapman. In unofficial four day game against India A he made off a century and also scored match winning century against same opposition in unofficial ODI Series.
About two years ago Chapman played lastly for the Black Caps and gone throw dismal series scoring only nine runs from three games. This time he decided to make a strong comeback in ODI Side settle the score towards success. Gavin Larsen, Chief selector is confident about Chapman good form of late.
Larsen said “ It’s great to welcome back Mark in one day game off the back of consecutive centurires which were made against strong India A side.”
