Pondicherry Cricket Association (CAP) offering dorm rooms for the treatment of coronavirus infected people, which is good enough for treating 30 patients

The Cricket Association of Pondicherry came forward to offer the dorm rooms for the treatment of the people who were infected by Coronavirus. P.Damodaran, former president of CAP and also a BCCI meetings state cricket nominee offered the dorm rooms with the humanity, to utilize the rooms for the corona victims which will be well enough to treat 30 patients easily.

Damodaran wrote a letter to Lt. Governor of Pudicherry Kiran Bedi stating that the dormitory built in the CAP in a purpose of accommodating two cricket teams, will be good enough to treat for 30 patients infected by corona.

“In Tutipet, Pondicherry, we had a dormitory built specially for the comfortable stay of two cricket teams in which 30 people can stay and dine including kitchen, etc. As we stopped the cricketing activities due to the outbreak of Corona we would like to offer these facilities to treat the corona victims. With necessary tie up through Laxmi Medical College in Pondicherry, it can be used to house up 30 victims and treat.”

With Lodha committee recommendations getting implemented by the Supreme Court-appointed CoA (Committee of Administrations), BCCI be taken on by CAP  and CoA granted the associate membership on 27th October 2017.

BCCI suspended all the forms of cricket including domestic tournaments like Irani Cup, Senior Women’s One Day Knockout, Senior Women’s One Day Challenger, Vizzy Trophy, Women’s U-19 T20 League, Women’s U-19 One-Day Knockout, Super League and Knockout, Women’s U-23 One-Day Challenger, Women’s U-23 knockout have been affected due to the corona pandemic.
