Indian cricket star Rahul Chahar has officially announced his separation from his wife, Ishani Johar. The 26-year-old leg-spinner shared the deeply personal news via his Instagram account on Friday.
The couple, who originally tied the knot in a destination wedding in Goa in March 2022, have formally ended their marriage after a lengthy legal process.

A Candid and Emotional Announcement
In his heartfelt social media post, Chahar opened up about the emotional toll of the separation. He revealed that he spent the last 15 months navigating courtrooms to reach a final legal resolution.+1
“I entered marriage at a young age. Before I fully understood myself, my worth, or the life I truly wanted to build,” Chahar wrote. “What followed were years of lessons I never expected, and the last fifteen months spent navigating courtrooms, learning patience, resilience, and the strength that comes from truth.”
While he admitted the resolution “costed a lot,” he emphasized that he holds absolutely no anger or regret. Instead, he is choosing to look forward with clarity.
“Some relationships are not meant to last forever—they are meant to awaken us, teach us, and transform us,” the post continued.
Moving Forward with Self-Respect

Despite the difficult transition, Chahar’s message ultimately focused on healing and personal growth. He noted that the end of his marriage is not an ending, but rather a release and a necessary reset.+1
Furthermore, he promised himself that everything he creates moving forward will stand firmly on self-respect, peace, and better choices. “I carry forward no bitterness—only lessons, dignity, and the courage to begin again,” he concluded.+1
A Fresh Start in the IPL
While his personal life undergoes a massive reset, his professional career is also entering a brand new phase.
Chahar made his international debut for India in 2019 and was notably part of the 2021 T20 World Cup squad. After a successful stint with the Mumbai Indians—where he won an IPL title and took the majority of his 75 career IPL wickets—he recently played for the Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad.+1
Now, he is gearing up for the upcoming 2026 season. During the recent mini-auction, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured his services for a massive ₹5.2 crore to significantly bolster their spin attack
