After Match 15 of the IPL 2025, which featured Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) overpowering Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), the race for the Orange Cap and Purple Cap has intensified. Here’s the updated leaderboard for top run-scorers and wicket-takers this season.

Orange Cap Leaderboard

Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continues to dominate the batting charts. With a total of 189 runs at an average of 63.00 and a blistering strike rate of 219.76, Pooran is proving to be LSG’s most dependable finisher. His recent innings include 44 against Punjab Kings (PBKS), after earlier fireworks of 75 (30) vs Delhi Capitals (DC) and 70 (26) against SRH.

In hot pursuit is Gujarat Titans’ (GT) B Sai Sudharsan, who now has 186 runs. His recent 49-run knock against RCB followed earlier scores of 74 and 63, keeping him just 3 runs short of Pooran.

GT’s Jos Buttler sits third with 166 runs at a strike rate of 172.91. His 73* off 39 balls on Wednesday night was instrumental in GT’s successful chase, solidifying his role at No. 3 this season.

Purple Cap Leaderboard

Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Noor Ahmad continues to hold the Purple Cap with nine wickets in three matches. The left-arm wristspinner has consistently delivered, with figures of 4/18, 3/36, and 2/28. His variations have outshone even teammates like R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja.

Right behind him is Delhi Capitals’ (DC) Mitchell Starc with eight wickets in just two matches. While he was expensive in his first outing (3/42 vs LSG), he bounced back with a career-best 5/35 against SRH.

The third spot is now shared by six bowlers — including KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy and Vaibhav Arora — both of whom took 3 wickets apiece against SRH to join the group at six wickets each. They share the spot with GT’s R Sai Kishore, RCB’s Josh Hazlewood, LSG’s Shardul Thakur, and CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed.
