The Gujarat Titans (GT) registered their fourth consecutive win in IPL 2025 by defeating the Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. GT posted a total of 217 for 6 and then bowled RR out for 159, securing a 58-run victory.

Sai Sudharsan Leads Batting Effort

Batting first, GT were powered by B Sai Sudharsan, who scored 82 off 53 balls, his third half-century of the season. Sudharsan and Jos Buttler put on an 80-run partnership. Later contributions came from M Shahrukh Khan (36 off 20) and a 30-run burst in the last two overs from Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan.

Rajasthan Royals Struggle in Chase

During the chase, Mohammed Siraj and Arshad Khan took early wickets in the powerplay. RR’s middle-order, led by Sanju Samson (41) and Shimron Hetmyer (52), attempted recovery. However, Prasidh Krishna’s 3-wicket haul in the middle overs and Rashid Khan’s double strike sealed RR’s collapse.

Bowling Highlights

  • Prasidh Krishna: 3 wickets for 24 runs
  • Rashid Khan: 2 wickets for 37
  • Sai Kishore: 2 wickets for 20

GT’s fielding and bowling prevented RR from building partnerships in the second innings, especially after Hetmyer’s dismissal in the 16th over.

Jofra Archer’s Return

Jofra Archer, after a challenging start to the season, picked up the wicket of Shubman Gill and bowled economically in his spell. His match-up with Gill continued, with Archer now having dismissed him 3 times in 15 balls in T20s.
