Virat Kohli and Prasidh Krishna remain in top spots on Orange and Purple Cap tables after Sunday’s double-header

Arshdeep’s Brilliant Spell Moves Him Into Purple Cap’s Top Three

There’s a new name in the top three of the Purple Cap standings for IPL 2025. Arshdeep Singh’s brilliant performance against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) has propelled him into third place. Arshdeep recorded figures of 3 for 16 from his four overs, leading Punjab Kings (PBKS) to a 37-run win in Dharamsala. This performance takes his season tally to 16 wickets from 10 innings.

Meanwhile, Prasidh Krishna of Gujarat Titans (GT) continues to lead the Purple Cap with 19 wickets from 10 innings. Josh Hazlewood of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) remains in second place with 18 wickets in as many matches.

Arshdeep shares the 16-wicket mark with Noor Ahmad (Chennai Super Kings) and Trent Boult (Mumbai Indians). However, Arshdeep sits above them due to his superior average and economy rate.

One other notable change in the Purple Cap table comes from Varun Chakravarthy of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). After claiming 2 for 32 against Rajasthan Royals (RR), he now has 15 wickets and has moved up the standings.

Orange Cap Table: Kohli, Sudharsan, and Yadav Hold the Top Three Spots

The top three positions in the Orange Cap standings remain unchanged after the Sunday games. Virat Kohli of RCB still leads with 505 runs from 11 innings. Close behind is B Sai Sudharsan from GT, with 504 runs in one fewer innings. Suryakumar Yadav of MI is in third place with 475 runs.

A new name in the top four is Yashasvi Jaiswal from Rajasthan Royals. Jaiswal’s 34 off 21 balls against KKR has moved him to fourth place with 473 runs in 12 innings.

Prabhsimran Singh of PBKS has also made a notable jump, moving past Nicholas Pooran into seventh place with 437 runs from 11 innings. Pooran, who was leading the run charts early in the season, has seen a dip in his performance and now sits in eighth place.

Other significant figures include Jos Buttler from GT with 470 runs in 12 innings, and Shubman Gill of GT with 465 runs, who are fifth and sixth respectively.
