After an intense double-header on Sunday, the IPL 2025 leaderboard saw some familiar faces strengthening their hold at the top, thanks to stellar performances from Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings.

Gujarat Titans openers B Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill made it a one-two punch atop the Orange Cap standings. Against Delhi Capitals, the duo powered GT to a comfortable chase of 199 runs, with Sudharsan unbeaten on 108 off 61 balls and Gill following close behind with 93 not out from 53 deliveries. This heroic effort pushed Sudharsan to the top of the run-scoring charts, now sitting on 617 runs from 12 innings. Close on his heels is captain Gill, who has racked up 601 runs in the same number of innings.

Before the match, Rajasthan Royals’ Yashasvi Jaiswal briefly claimed the No. 1 spot with a rapid 50 off 25 balls against Punjab Kings. However, his 523 runs across 13 matches now place him third, trailing the Gujarat Titans’ dynamic duo.

Delhi’s KL Rahul, who also scored a brilliant century in the same game, climbed to seventh place with 493 runs. Just ahead of him are seasoned performers like Suryakumar Yadav (510), Virat Kohli (505), and Jos Buttler (500).

On the bowling front, Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna made a significant leap in the Purple Cap race. Starting the day tied at 20 wickets with Chennai Super Kings’ Noor Ahmad, Krishna picked up one more scalp against Delhi to move clear at the top with 21 wickets in 12 innings. Not far behind are Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Josh Hazlewood and Mumbai Indians’ Trent Boult, both with 18 wickets.

As the IPL season continues to unfold, fans can keep an eye on other key stats including highest batting strike rates, best bowling economy, most sixes, and best bowling figures.
