Akash Deep dedicates his debut to late father

Dedicating his splendid three-wicket burst to his father, Akash expressed his gratitude for achieving his dad’s dream of becoming something in life. He shared that his father, Ramji Singh, had always wished for his son to excel in life. Unfortunately, Ramji Singh passed away in 2015 due to paralysis, followed by Akash losing his elder brother within six months.

“I dedicate this to my father. It was my father’s dream that his son does something good with his life. When he was alive, I couldn’t do anything. So i dedicate this performance to my father,” Akash told reporters.

Overcoming personal tragedy

In an emotional moment, Akash revealed that he felt compelled to do something meaningful with his life after these tragic losses. He left his home to pursue cricket, finding support and a conducive environment in Bengal, where he played Ranji Trophy. The right-arm pacer acknowledged the significant role his family played in his cricketing journey, stating that the losses he experienced motivated him to pursue his dreams fearlessly.

“It was a very emotional moment for me. I lost my father and my brother in the same year. After that I felt, I need to do something with my life. Then I left my home to play cricket. Bengal supported me well, I got a good atmosphere. I played Ranji Trophy with them. My journey in cricket, my family has a played a big role in it. Because when you lose two big people in your house, you have nothing left to lose. I came in with that mindset when I left home. I have nothing to lose, but a lot to gain,” added Akash.

Impressive figures on Day 1 of the fourth test

Akash’s performance on the field reflected his determination and resilience. Although he had initially dismissed Zak Crawley with a brilliant delivery, it was ruled as a no-ball due to overstepping. However, he quickly regrouped and took the wickets of Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope in quick succession. Finally, he managed to dismiss Crawley again, this time legally, ending the day with figures of 3 for 70.

The young pacer’s impressive debut has caught the attention of cricket enthusiasts and experts alike. Akash’s dedication to his late father and his ability to overcome personal tragedy to achieve success on the international stage is truly inspiring. As he continues his journey in cricket, fans are eagerly awaiting more remarkable performances from this talented bowler.
