In a delayed IPL 2024 match at Eden Gardens due to rain, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) took on Mumbai Indians (MI). MI won the toss and chose to bowl first, immediately making an impact by taking early wickets.

Even though Andre Russell and Nitish Rana tried to stabilize KKR’s innings, they eventually pinned their hopes on young player Rinku Singh for a late push. However, their aspirations were shattered by a brilliant delivery from Jasprit Bumrah.

In the last over, facing Bumrah’s fast deliveries, Rinku Singh swung hard but only managed to get a thick edge. The ball flew straight into Ishan Kishan’s gloves behind the stumps, resulting in Singh’s departure after scoring just 20 runs off 12 balls, including two sixes.

Bumrah’s precise bowling made it tough for Singh to make solid contact, leading to an easy dismissal for KKR.

Despite KKR’s efforts, they finished their innings at 157/7 in 16 overs. Bumrah’s crucial wicket of Rinku Singh in the final over could have a big impact on the match’s outcome.

As of now, Mumbai Indians are in a strong position, boosted by the solid performance of openers Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan. They have reached 46 runs without losing a wicket, needing 112 more to win at Eden Gardens.
