3 records waiting for Rohit Sharma in 2020

In the last five years Rohit Sharma exciting us in white ball cricket by showing his strength. In this new year he is very close to the achievements in ODIs and T20Is which brings a legendary status to him.

In the limited over formats he is going on adding the runs. Indian vice Captain not only breaking the records but creating the records as well.

This 32 years player is now at peaks in his career with records and we can expect this heavy run streaming for the next couple of years in all the aspects of the game. This year he has the chance to create new world records national wide.

The three records which are so near and can be break by Rohit Sharma in 2020 are:

1.Most T20I matches

This right handed Batsman already created record of playing more number of T20I matches for India and now he has chances of creating it at the World level.   

Rohit played 104 T20Is till and are seven in count less than tally of Shoaib Malik. Shoaib is in the top lead as a most number of T20Is played in World Cricket in the chart table.

Though he is in rest for the ongoing T20I series playing against Sri Lanka, more chances he will be featured regularly for India after the running series.

There are more 17 T20I games to be played by Men in Blue after the Sri Lanka series but before T20 World Cup this year. It is not the toughest job to cross the Malik’s tally if he recovers soon from injury.

Malik yet not retired from Pakistan T20I cricket but he is out of the selectors choice who giving opportunity to the youngsters.

2.Most sixes by an Indian in T20 World Cup

Rohit is undoubtedly one of the best strokes player at any moment. His incredible hitting strength leads to sixes both against spin and pace which are mostly timing ones at the situation.

It will be a treat to watch the way he hits against the fast bowlers to pull shots and he get back the track against spinners to hit.

In the T20 World Cups he played 28 games hitting 24 sixes. Indian hitting more number of sixes in T20 World Cup record currently held by former Indian All rounder Yuvraj Singh by hitting 33 sixes in 31 games.

There is a possibility of breaking Yuvraj’s record by hitting 10 sixes in T20 World Cup this year in Australia.

3.Hundred Sixes against same opponent

Australia is one of the team who faced more rage of Indian Vice Captain more number of times.  So far Rohit played against Australia across all conditions and hit 93 sixes against them for 61matches.

This year India is planning to play three ODIs in January, in October three T20Is and three test matches against Australia at the end of the year. The fourth match of the series will happen in the month of January, 2021.

In case if Rohit gets an opportunity to play all these games then he will be playing maximum of 18 innings including 3 OIDs, 3 T20I innings, 6 Test innings. It is so easy task for him to complete 100sixes against one opponent team. West Indian left hander recorded by hitting 130 sixes in 69 games against England.
