Billie Jean King is a Tennis Legend who is a crusader in the sports world for gender equality. She came as an attendee at MCG to enjoy the Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 final held between India and Australia.
In the ICC T20 World Cup official Instagram, the latest video has been posted in which great Tennis player Billie Jean King is seen batting in Cricket for Women empowerment.
This video longs for two minutes which shows Women across the world who were participating in the nets Cricket, displaying their prowess related to this field.
King gave a strong message by appearing in this video hailing the sportswomen as ‘independent’, ‘powerful’, ‘change-makers’.
She was seen as one of the attendees in Melbourne Cricket Ground at the time of Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 finals between India and Australia.
She gave an interview in which she said:
“It’s fabulous to see the men and women are together in Cricket. Look at what they are doing: the men and women supporting each other. Isn’t it? What is the big deal? Cricket is sending a great message I think.”
The 76-year old lady is a winner of 39 Grand slam titles including 12 in singles, 16 in women’s doubles and 11 in mixed doubles is one of the crusader for gender equality in the world of sports and has. In the past, she even batted for the equality of men and women in various sports.
