Ajinkya Rahane could line up for ODI set up against New Zealand

There is a report releases stating that the selection committee conducted meeting for the possibility of recalling Ajinkya Rahane for the 50-over series against New Zealand.

Befor clashing for the two match test series, Men in Blue and Black Caps were slated to play 3ODIs and 5T20Is. On Sunday there held a meeting to name Indian squad for all formats. But the committee released only T20 side in which it is announced that Rohit Sharma returned back as the opener in rest for the rubber against Sri Lanka.

There were plenty of rumours spread on reason behind changing the selection committee announcing the squad differing but the potential ground is guessed that would be the recent injury suffered by Prithvi Shaw.

After backdated doping ban, the Mumbaikar recently made his comeback and was in the sight of selectors in the Test Team. Selectors would have to focus over his fitness as he had a shoulder injury in the game against Karnataka in Ranji Trophy.

The top order’s batsman last white ball appearance for India against South Africa was held at Centurion on 16th February 2018. Though he is not being frequent player in limited over sides but the Indian vice captain show off a honourable average of 35.26 in all over 90 ODIs scoring 3 hundreds and 24 fifties.
