CAC raised question to potential national selectors about MS Dhoni’s future in International Cricket

There went on a question and answer round of two vacant positions in the Indian national cricket team’s selection committee, asked by Cricket Advisory Committee about the MS Dhoni’s future in their international as he didn’t play a game for India since 2019 World Cup.

It was a common question asked to all candidates to answer “what will be your call on MS Dhoni’s future with the Indian team?”

CAC had been taken the task of selecting the new selectors as MSK Prasad and Gagan Khoda’ tenures came to an end as national selectors.

Sunil Joshi was appointed as a new chairman of the selection panel and Harvinder Singh occupied the place of Khoda after lengthy procedure went on by Madan Lal-led committee.

One of the strongest candidates in this race is Lakshman Sivaramakrishnan but this 54 year old couldn’t clear the process.

A Senior BCCI official spoke to PTI on Wednesday gave the details of the selection process. He referring to the question about MS Dhoni’s future said

“Yes, one common question asked by CAC  was about their call with regards to Mahendra Singh Dhoni and whether he will be selected for T20 World Cup.”

He also explained the reason behind asking the same question to all and said “ Dhoni is a current sensitive and tricky issue and that is the reason behind asking the same question.”

According to the gathered source, few selectors were asked one more tricky question is that if they wanted to become a chairperson of the committee or else they would be happy and satisfied with the selector post.

Sivaramakrishnan answered he will not be ready to work only as a selector but Joshi answered he is ready and no issue in losing a position of chairman.

This question was very particular and important criterion as there will be a tenure ending for Jatin Paranjpe, Davang Gandhi and Sarandeep Singh and will be a shuffling takes place in the month of September.

MS Dhoni’s future in the International cricket is being a big question mark and the veteran is all set to return to the cricket field to play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2020.
