India’s maiden pink-ball Test match with 43 million viewers and 2 billion minutes

BARC had recently concluded that India’s first ever pink-ball Test match held in November 2019 is a landmark achievement in Indian cricket history as it was viewed by 43 million people viewing it to 2 billion minutes.

The BCCI selected Sourav Ganguly, post former India captain as a president and it was completely his idea to bring the pink-ball Test to India after India being denied in Australia to play day-night Test match back in the year 2018.

The Skipper with a fine century led the side picking up a win of 46-run dominating innings in the day-night Test hosted by India at the Eden Gardens with Bangladesh.

Indian team effort with ball is also remarkable as they ran through Bangladesh batting under lights and mainly Ishant Sharam (9/78) and Umesh Yadav (8/82). The ball movement was also quite a bit, the ball movement onto the bat was also claimed by the Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

India sealed the Test series with a huge win and in the point table of the ICC World Test Championship, Virat Kohli led side were on the top from nine matches with overall 360 points.

With 296 points of 10matches, Australia were in the second place and the third spot occupied by New Zealand team with 180 points of seven games.
