During T20I series against Sri Lanka, Navdeep Saini impressed most of them with his ability of lethal pace and wicket taking. He was named ‘Man of the Series” for taking five wickets in two T20Is. He also impressed every one in ODI debut against West Indies. He has talent of hurrying the batsman with some raw pace which helped him getting place in India’s test Squad for New Zealand’s tour.
Saini’s chances of being in the Squad is more as Bhuvneshwar Kumar is out of the squad team as he was injured with sports hernia and Jasprit Bumrah is still recovering from back stress fracture
Once he was a part of India’s Test Squad for one off test held against Afghanistan, at the moment he was in the place of Mohammad Shami as couldn’t qualify the fitness test. Both Rohit Sharma and Mohammad Shami were likely to be in the Indian Squad for New Zealand tour. T20I series going to start from January 24 and India is set to play five T20Is, three ODIs and two T20Is against New Zealand.
There is still no clarity on Pandya’s fitness and Shivam Dube is likely to be as an all rounder for the series against New Zealand. Remaining squad will be same as they play Australia.
