Jhye Richardson excluded from New Zealand ODIs, Australia squad list for ODIs against South Africa and New Zealand

Jhye Richardson, Australian pacer missed the place in the ODI Squad to play home against New Zealand but got chance to play in the same team against South Africa for three match ODI which is going to begin on February 29. He lastly represented Australia 11months ago and since then he wasn’t picked in playing XI for first 2 T20Is.

Chief Selector Trevor Hohns gave explanation regarding Richardson exclusion from the squad list against New Zealand stating how the pacer forced himself back to his way after some good performances in the BBL concluded recently.

“Jhye’s performance is exceptionally good which we saw in BBL. He was into T20 squad against South Africa and is trying to get place in that side. Having such a deep pool of fast bowlers in a team is really so fortunate for us.”

He added “After a serious injury Jhye worked so hard and got his place back into the best form . Adding him in the South Africa  with one day squad will give us another exceptional fast bowler who is fit and ready to go.”

Richardson battled against his self doubts reflecting on his recovery from the injury, frustration of getting away from the game increased and his will to get back to the national squad was very strong after the injury and that brought him till here.

He said “ There were few moments happened where you don’t even know what’s next. Hitting the level where you haven’t gone up and down, being in a stagnant position, though you are doing everything but nothing happens. It’s really most frustrating”.
