In the latest ICC test rankings, Indian spinner Virat Kohli reserved his place in number one position among the batsmen. ICC stated that Kohli on top with 928 points while Australian ace Steve Smith with 911 points followed next.
Marnus Labuschagne with his double century in maiden jumped behind Kohli in second place while Smith in third place considered to be his career’s best. His score against New Zealand was 549 runs which is considered as cap off fantastic summer for the Queenslander.
With 791 points Cheteshwar Pujara dropped down to sixth place and with 759 points Ajinkya Rahane dropped down to places down to ninth place.
Coming to bowlers, with 904 points Australian speedster Pat Cummins occupied top place while Neil Wagner with 852 points in second place and Jason Holder with 830 points next to Wagner. In the recently held Australian summer match, Mitchell Starc picked 29 wickets which made him be in the career best fifth place which already he occupied in March 2018.
Jasprith Bumrah though was out if the match most of the time due to stress fracture in the back, with 794 points he is in sixth place. Fellow Indian bowlers Ravichandran with 772 points and Mohammed Shami with 771 points were in 9th and 10th place.
Benstokes score of 47 and excellent 47 ball 72 in the second test against South Africa reserved place in top 10 batsmen’s ranking. James Anderson reserved place in top 10 among the bowlers and recorded as 28th five wicket haul of his test career in the same series.
