Batting legend and the former Indian captain Sachin Tendulakr spot out certain potential challenges for the limited overs for Rohit Sharma of the first T20I held in Auckland. He expressed about the tough conditions that await the opener, while speaking to PTI.
Rohit Sharam has been brilliant in the form for the past couple of years and was requited with a test call at home against South Africa. To make his own spot he with lot of pressure scored twin centuries as a test opener in his debut match and in the final test notched up a double ton.
Sachin stated that before also Sharma opened the match in New Zealand and mostly every possibility his side to perform well again.
“ It is a challenge to go out and open in various conditions for an opener. I think in New Zealand Rohit had opened ODIs and was there few times, He would know the conditions well”.
He also discussed about the change in the conditions reflecting the game. If Kiwis leaves the grass on the pitch then definitely pitch is going to play key role while deciding the team line up in his accordance.
He said “ But all of it depends on the pitch they going to provide. It’s going to be a big challenge if they provide green tops.”
Overall India plays five T20Is, three ODIs and two Test in New Zealand.
