Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the recent annual event of Pariksha Pe Charcha, he mentioned Anil Kumble how he played Test match in 2002 against West Indies with a broken jaw. He explained students how he motivated himself and played. After two days of that event, Anil Kumble thanked him for mentioning his name and said he felt very much honoured.
Kumble tweet wishing student good luck for their exams and said that he is honoured to have mentioned his name in Pariksha Pe Charcha 2020 and thanked PM Narendra Modi Ji. He also said “ Best wishes to everyone writing their exams.”
Pariksha Pe Charcha is held every year before the exam season in schools and this is the third edition. In this edition, he also reminded of VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid partnership in Eden Gardens against Australia to students.
PM said “ Mood was not very good as our Cricket team was setting back. In those moments what VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid do, can we ever forget? They turned the match around”

In 2002 Auntigua test, Kumble suffered jaw fracture while batting and was ruled out of the tour. But to all of the surprise he entered the field with a bandaged face and dismissed Brain Lara bowling 14 consecutive overs.
