Sri Lanka Cricket has postponed all the domestic cricket due to the increase of coronavirus outbreak

The coronavirus cases have increased in Sri Lanka due to which Sri Lanka Cricket postponed all their domestic cricket. The sub-continent on Friday went into a nation-wide lock down, hence they took the mandatory steps in the country in which postponing all the domestic matches is also included.

Reports said, between March 12 and 14 there held a local cricket match between S. Thomas’ College and Royal Challenge which played a major role in the community transmissions in Sri Lanka. Thousands of spectators have attended the match at SCC while one of those spectators have resulted corona positive after testing as per reports. The close associates of him were instructed to get self-isolated as soon as the news came out.

Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka President said that he requested to postpone the Royal-Thomian match as a call off with the effect of the dreadful coronavirus but was ignored.

By taking the prevailing health (Covid-19) into the consideration in the country, the SLC tournament committee had decided to postpone all the domestic tournaments until the nest notice.  

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, England’s tour of Sri Lanka, South Africa’s tour of India, New Zealand’s tour of Australia are also postponed or might be cancelled further. Recently, the PCB called off the HBL PSL 2020 semi-finals and IPL 2020 situation also looks grim in the current situation.
