Virat Kohli and team was assigned customized workout routines for the 21-days lockdown

The Indian team’s strength and conditioning coach Nick Webb had a call conversation with physio Nitin Patel and has assigned the customized workouts to Virat and team as the cricketers spending their time at home due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The reason behind the Webb and Patil coming up with player specific routines is to help them to be in shapes, especially the contracted players as it takes time to conducted games because the country aims to fight against the dreadful disease COVID-19.

“All the Indian cricket players including red-ball cricket, white-ball cricket, all formats have been given the routine fitness schedule which have to be strictly followed by the team and time to time updates have to be reported to Webb and Nitin. By keeping in mind the demands of the players, the workout routines have been created.”

The source further detailed say “ a bowler is given exercises which makes his core and lower body strong while the batsmen has given exercises which strengthen his shoulders and wrists.”

Keeping in mind the players’ workout patterns, the routines have been designed for them said the source.

On Tuesday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced 3-week nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus outbreak which had put the IPL fate into serious confusion. BCCI kept full of hopes on conducting IPL from May first week, meanwhile the Sports Ministry clearly declared that the fate of all sports including cricket will be decided only after the government declaration which is expected to come out on April 15th hopefully.
