Women’s T20 World Cup 2020- Poonam Yadav will be the key against India in semi finals, reckons Heather Knight

India is now one of the top contenders for the Women’s T20 World Cup title as it is the only team to have won all their state league matches. Their bowling up line is being one of the major factor for the Women in Blue cruise to semifinals.

Poonam Yadav is the one name which hits every one’s mind in their bowling attack. The leggie by picking seven wickets in the matches against Australia and Bangladesh was a reason behind spelling match win. From the India side, Poonam Yadav is being a major threat as per the England skipper Heather Knight and she believes that England need to focus more on her play to beat the opponents in semi finals.

Knight  a head of the game said “ She is a well improved bowler and a massive threat for them as per the last World Cup. Hence we need to play her to be successful and need to focus on all other spinners as well. That’s going to be a key in the upcoming game.”

England managed to score 29 runs off Yadav’s four overs with no wickets which was not that great one against them on same platform. In 2018, England performance against India was a morale boosting factor for them which was also a high pressure game.

Since the time England had lost their match to South Africa, they started every one treating like a heavy contestant as the things have gone their own way.

Knight said that she believes in their team that England are at their very best when their backs are against the wall.

She said “the very best thing about our team is that we have lot of variety and different skillsets related to batting and bowling , so we believe we can come out of any situation we are thrown into.”
