West Indies head coach Daren Sammy has addressed the recent sexual assault allegations reportedly made against a West Indies player, stating that while justice must ultimately be served, it is essential that the matter proceeds through the appropriate channels.
The allegations were first reported by Kaieteur News, which claimed that multiple women had come forward to accuse the unnamed cricketer of offences dating back to 2023. As of now, no formal charges have been laid.

Speaking to reporters in Grenada ahead of the second Test against Australia, Sammy confirmed he has been in close contact with players to check on their wellbeing. He noted that the team community is committed to supporting all parties involved while respecting due process.
He indicated he was not aware of specific details about any incidents dating back two years and declined to comment on whether Cricket West Indies (CWI) should open its own investigation.
Cricket West Indies issued a statement explaining that it has not received any official communication or documentation regarding the allegations and is therefore not in a position to comment further.
The matter remains under scrutiny as West Indies continue their preparations for the ongoing Test series against Australia. It is expected that any further developments will be addressed in line with established legal procedures.
