Ihsanullah Jannat, an Afghan cricketer, has been banned from cricket for five years due to match-fixing, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on August 7.
The ACB stated that Jannat broke the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code during this year’s Kabul Premier League. He was found guilty of trying to improperly influence the outcome or any aspect of a match, violating Article 2.1.1 of the ICC’s rules.
Jannat admitted to the charges and confessed to his involvement in corrupt activities. He is the younger brother of Nawroz Mangal, a former captain of Afghanistan’s cricket team.
The ACB is also investigating three other players for similar offenses, with decisions pending based on the findings.

In the Kabul Premier League, Ihsanullah Jannat scored 72 runs in four games for the Shamshad Eagles, who finished last in the six-team competition with only one win in five matches.
Jannat, 26, has played three test matches, 16 ODIs, and one T20 international for Afghanistan, with his last international appearance being in 2022 against Zimbabwe.
