India defeated Zimbabwe by 5 wickets in the second ODI of the three-match series at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday. With the win, India sealed the series 2-0 with a match to go.

Sanju Samson led India with an unbeaten 43-run knock to help the side chase down a 162-run target. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill also helped the team’s cause with an identical score of 33.

Earlier, Shardul Thakur returned figures of 3 for 38 in 7 overs as India bundled out hosts Zimbabwe for 161 runs in 38.1 overs.

India’s stand-in skipper KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first. It is worth noting that Deepak Chahar missed out the match. He was replaced by Shardul Thakur.
