In the first test against New Zealand held at Wellington, India faced a comprehensive defeat. In both the innings the batting line up failed to fire where as bowlers too unable to stop the onslaught from lower order Kiwis.
However, Coach Ravi Shastri in a positive line and believes that the defeat would make them realize their mistakes by shaking a things bit in the dressing room. He is in a hope that team India rectifies their mistakes and make better efforts in the second Test at Christchurch.
Shastri told reporters “ We in the first test outplayed but it is always good to shake up like this.It opens your mindset.”
“ you will have a closed mindset if you don’t taste defeat. Here in this case, if we see how things changed, it really gives you an opportunity to learn. Knowing what New Zealand does and what to expect teaches you a good lesson and the boys are now up for the challenge.”
Ravichandran Aswin in the first test unable to contribute with the bat and failed to impress. He may be replaced by Ravindra Jadeja in the playing eleven as per Shastri hints. But I believe that Ashwin has the ability to bounce back and perform strong if he got a chance in the second Test.
Shastri concluded “ Ashwin is a world class bowler and no doubt in it. But the thing is he disappointed in the batting way and he needs to improve in that corner.”
