To help bowling teams counter excessive dew, the IPL governing council has introduced a new rule allowing them to request a ball change after the 11th over of the second innings in evening matches.

Reason for the Change
Previously, umpires had full discretion over changing a ball affected by dew. However, teams often struggled with wet balls, making it difficult for bowlers to maintain grip and control.
