After 13 games in IPL 2025, Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) continues to dominate the Orange Cap standings. He has amassed 189 runs at an average of 63 and a staggering strike rate of 219.76. His most recent knock was a 44-run effort against Punjab Kings (PBKS), following explosive innings of 75 off 30 balls against Delhi Capitals (DC) and 70 off 26 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer has moved to No. 2 after his 52* against LSG**. In the season opener against Gujarat Titans (GT), he smashed an unbeaten 97 off 42 balls and has since followed it up with another match-winning half-century. Meanwhile, B Sai Sudharsan, who has 137 runs from two innings for GT, occupies the third spot. His measured approach has been effective despite a strike rate of 167.07.
Purple Cap Standings
Noor Ahmad has been a revelation for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) this season. Playing alongside Ravindra Jadeja and R Ashwin, Noor has outshone his senior spin partners, bagging nine wickets so far—including figures of 4 for 18 and 3 for 36 in key matches. He leads the Purple Cap race, with his left-arm wrist-spin proving to be a game-changer.
Right behind him is Mitchell Starc, who has scalped eight wickets in just two games for DC. Despite an expensive first outing where he conceded 42 runs for 3 wickets, Starc delivered a breathtaking 5 for 35 against SRH, dismantling the top order in the powerplay and cleaning up the lower order in the 18th over.
A tie for third place sees LSG’s Shardul Thakur and CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed, both with six wickets from three games. Thakur’s standout performance was 4 for 34 against SRH, while Khaleel made an impact with 3 for 29 against MI in his opening match.
