Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) Nicholas Pooran continues to hold the Orange Cap in IPL 2025. He has amassed 189 runs at an average of 63.00 and a stunning strike rate of 219.76. Pooran’s latest knock of 44 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) followed his explosive innings of 75 from 30 balls against Delhi Capitals (DC) and 70 from 26 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

Gujarat Titans’ (GT) Sai Sudharsan has surged to the second spot after his 49 off 36 balls against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). He had earlier scored 74 and 63 in his previous matches, taking his tally to 186 runs, just three short of Pooran.

The third position is occupied by GT’s Jos Buttler. Batting at No. 3 this season, Buttler played a match-winning 73* off 39 balls against RCB, bringing his total runs to 166 at a strike rate of 172.91.

Purple Cap Standings

The Purple Cap race is led by Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Noor Ahmad. The left-arm wristspinner has been in sensational form, picking up nine wickets so far, including figures of 4 for 18, 3 for 36, and 2 for 28.

Mitchell Starc of Delhi Capitals (DC) is close behind with eight wickets from just two games. He had expensive figures of 3 for 42 against LSG but bounced back with a stellar 5 for 35 against SRH, his best-ever T20 performance.

There is currently a four-way tie for third place, featuring GT’s R Sai Kishore, RCB’s Josh Hazlewood, LSG’s Shardul Thakur, and CSK’s Khaleel Ahmed. All four have six wickets each, with Sai Kishore climbing up after his economical 2 for 22 against RCB.
