As IPL 2025 rolls on, the competition for the Orange and Purple Caps is getting intense. More batters are crossing the 200-run mark, and bowlers are steadily climbing into double-digit wicket counts. While the leaders at the top remain unchanged, the race is tightening just below them after CSK’s recent win over LSG.

Orange Cap Standings

The Orange Cap leaderboard now boasts 14 batters who’ve crossed the 200-run milestone — a clear sign of consistent performances with the bat. However, only two players have crossed 300 runs so far:

  • Nicholas Pooran – 357 runs (Still No. 1 despite scoring just 8 vs CSK)
  • B Sai Sudharsan – 329 runs
  • Mitchell Marsh – 295 runs

Following close behind is Shreyas Iyer with 250 runs, while Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are not far off. Other contenders making solid contributions include:

  • Jos Buttler
  • Travis Head
  • Tilak Varma
  • Phil Salt
  • Shubman Gill
  • Aiden Markram
  • Ajinkya Rahane
  • KL Rahul

While Pooran and Sudharsan have a decent lead, just one or two explosive innings from any of the chasing group could flip the table quickly.

Purple Cap Standings

On the bowling front, Noor Ahmad continues to lead with 12 wickets, even though he went wicketless (4-0-13-0) against LSG. Despite not picking up a wicket, his economical spell was enough to impress and make him a strong Player-of-the-Match candidate.

Right behind him, just one wicket short, are:

  • Khaleel Ahmed – picked up 1 wicket vs LSG to reach 11
  • Shardul Thakur – went wicketless and missed a chance to go level or ahead

With plenty of matches still to go, the battle for the Purple Cap looks wide open. One good spell can change everything — and with pitches starting to wear, spinners and clever pacers might begin dominating.
