England defeated Pakistan by two wickets on Tuesday. This thrilling victory officially secured their tournament semi-final spot. The high-stakes match occurred in Kandy during the 2026 T20 World Cup. England currently leads their Super 8 group with four points.

Harry Brook Dominates the Chase

Captain Harry Brook played an absolutely incredible innings. He smashed exactly 100 runs from just 51 deliveries. The talented batsman hit ten boundaries and four massive sixes. Brook completely rescued his struggling team from an early top-order collapse.

Will Jacks provided excellent support during the middle overs. He scored 28 crucial runs to steady the challenging chase. Ultimately, Jofra Archer hit the winning boundary in the final over.

Pakistan Shows Incredible Fight

Pakistan batted first and scored a respectable 164 runs. Opener Sahibzada Farhan led the entire team with 63 runs. Liam Dawson contained the middle order and took three wickets.

Shaheen Afridi bowled brilliantly during the tense run chase. He dismissed four English batters for just 30 runs. Afridi even removed Phil Salt on the very first delivery. However, Pakistan ultimately failed to defend their final total.

What Happens Next?

Pakistan still holds a very slight qualification chance today. They must defeat Sri Lanka in their final group match. Furthermore, they desperately need favorable results from other upcoming games. Meanwhile, England happily celebrates their fifth consecutive semi-final tournament appearance.
