Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mayank Yadav has suffered another injury setback, delaying his return to IPL 2025. Yadav, who was recovering from a back injury, recently sustained a toe injury that has further postponed his comeback. Head coach Justin Langer remains optimistic about his return towards the later stages of the tournament.
LSG’s Fast Bowling Woes
LSG is entering IPL 2025 with significant challenges, as four of their key Indian fast bowlers—Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan, and Akash Deep—are currently unavailable due to injuries. While Yadav and Mohsin are ruled out for the initial phase, Avesh and Akash are expected to recover soon.

Mayank Yadav’s Injury Update
Mayank Yadav, who made a sensational IPL debut last year by clocking speeds above 150 kmph and winning consecutive Player-of-the-Match awards, was initially recovering well from a back injury. However, his progress was hampered after he sustained a toe injury, reportedly from an accidental impact on furniture. This led to an infection, delaying his rehabilitation.
Other Key Injuries in LSG Camp

- Mohsin Khan: Initially retained by LSG, Mohsin has suffered a calf injury in rehab and has been ruled out for the season. He has been replaced by Shardul Thakur.
- Avesh Khan: Suffering from a knee niggle, Avesh is currently undergoing fitness tests at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and could be available soon.
- Akash Deep: The pacer is in the final stages of recovery from a back injury and has reportedly cleared his yo-yo test, indicating a potential return in the upcoming matches.
Rishabh Pant’s Debut as LSG Captain
