Mohammed Shami is working hard to return to international cricket after being out for over eight months due to an ankle injury. Following a successful surgery, he has begun bowling in the nets again.
When asked about retirement, Shami mentioned recent retirements of players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja from T20 cricket. He made it clear that he has no plans to retire soon. “I have no plans to retire right now. If I ever get bored or stop enjoying the game, then I’ll think about it. I’m excited to get back on the field and believe I can still contribute,” Shami said on Shubhankar Mishra’s podcast.
Mohammed Shami also mentioned he plans to play alongside Jasprit Bumrah in the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2027 ODI World Cup. “I’m not going anywhere,” he added.
