Former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni was recently seen in the United States, spending time with some close friends. Dhoni, the famous wicketkeeper-batsman, last played in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, where his team was knocked out after losing their final league match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Fans are hoping to see him in the next IPL season, but Dhoni hasn’t made any official decision yet.

During his time away from the spotlight, Dhoni was seen enjoying American football with his friends in Michigan. One of his friends, Hitesh Sanghvi, shared a video showing moments from their short trip, including Dhoni sitting with him in the stands at a football stadium.

“Fun trip to michigan for American football and back…….with these amazing people,” Sanghvi wrote on Instagram.

MS Dhoni to Play in IPL 2025 as an Uncapped Player?

According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI is thinking about a move to classify retired international players as uncapped.

With the rules for IPL 2025 players and team retention still not announced, MS Dhoni said he will wait to see what the rules are before deciding if he wants to keep playing.

“There’s plenty of time for that. We need to see what decisions they make on player retention and other things. Right now, it’s not in our hands. Once the rules are set, I’ll make a decision, but it has to be what’s best for the team,” Dhoni said at an event in Hyderabad earlier in August.

Meanwhile, team owners are waiting for the BCCI to release the new retention policy. It’s expected that the announcement might be delayed until the end of the month.
