Chennai Super Kings aka CSK has announced that Ravindra Jadeja has handed over the captaincy region to MS Dhoni in the IPL 2022.
But an official statement from the franchise states that Jadeja requested Dhoni to take over again while the former could concentrate on his game. Earlier in this season, head coach Stephen Fleming had revealed that Dhoni had a conversation with him during IPL 2021 about handing over the captaincy to Jadeja this season – at the start of a new cycle.
“MS Dhoni has accepted to lead CSK in the larger interest and to allow Jadeja to focus on his game,” the CSK statement read.
CSK has a bad start in the IPL 2022 so far, winning just two of their eight fixtures so far and are on the brink of missing out on a playoff spot.
