Yuvraj Singh’s father, Yograj Singh, has once again blamed former India captain MS Dhoni for ending his son’s international career.
In a recent video that went viral on social media, Yograj Singh criticized Dhoni harshly. It’s clear that there’s bad blood between the two, as Yograj has taken multiple shots at the former Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain over the years.
In the video, Yograj expressed that he has never “forgiven” Dhoni and revealed that he doesn’t hug people, not even his own family.
“I won’t forgive MS Dhoni. He should look at himself in the mirror. He’s a great cricketer, but what he did to my son can never be forgiven. I’ve never forgiven anyone who’s wronged me, and I’ve never hugged them in my life, not even my own family or children,” Yograj said during an interview with Zee Switch on YouTube.

Yograj Singh has consistently blamed MS Dhoni for cutting short Yuvraj Singh’s international cricket career. He believes Yuvraj could have played for another four to five years if it weren’t for Dhoni’s actions. “That man (Dhoni) ruined my son’s career. I challenge anyone to raise a son like Yuvraj. Even Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag have said there will never be another Yuvraj Singh,” Yograj said.
Yograj also suggested that India should honor Yuvraj with the Bharat Ratna for his contributions to Indian cricket, especially for winning the World Cup while battling cancer.
This isn’t the first time Yograj has targeted Dhoni. Earlier this year, he claimed that Dhoni’s “bad deeds” were the reason why Chennai Super Kings (CSK) failed to win the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) title. He also accused Dhoni of being jealous of Yuvraj.
“CSK lost the IPL 2024 because of Dhoni’s bad karma. Yuvraj is the ICC Ambassador, a title he deserves! And this jealous Dhoni didn’t even shake hands with Yuvraj, which is why CSK lost,” Yograj said in another viral video.
Despite the tension, Yuvraj Singh played a key role in India’s victories in the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup, both under Dhoni’s captaincy. Yuvraj was even named ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the 2011 World Cup.
