Munawar Faruqui, known for his comedy and winner of Big Boss, surprised everyone with his cricket skills in the first game of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL). Playing for Khiladi XI, he bowled out Sachin Tendulkar during a special match held after the ISPL’s opening ceremony in Thane.
Munawar Faruqui , aged 32, became an unexpected hero in the ISPL’s opening match by taking Tendulkar’s wicket. Bowling medium pace, Faruqui’s wide delivery outside off-stump led Tendulkar to attempt a shot towards fine-leg. However, Tendulkar ended up top-edging the ball and getting caught at gully by Naman Ojha. The crowd at Dadoji Kondadev Stadium in Thane erupted in excitement as Faruqui accomplished this feat in the 5th over of the match.

Munawar Faruqui showed some serious skills in fielding during the ISPL 2024 Special Match.
Faruqui made a big difference not just by getting Tendulkar out. In the 7th over, he showed off his good fielding skills by catching Yusuf Pathan out, thanks to a ball thrown by actor Prateik Babbar. Pathan scored 21 runs, helping the Master’s 11 team reach a total of 95 runs for the loss of 7 players in 10 overs.
Tendulkar, who’s also an investor and a Core Committee Member of ISPL 2024, started batting with Amir Hussain Lone, the captain of the J&K para cricket team. Even though Tendulkar and Pathan got out early, the Master’s 11 team showed off their cricketing abilities in the exciting match and ended up winning it.
