In today’s IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC), PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first in Dharamsala. The decision came after a brief drizzle and a wet ground, with the aim to capitalize on batting conditions before the pitch becomes trickier.
PBKS decided to go with the same batting XI, while DC made two changes. Madhav Tiwari, a 21-year-old allrounder from Madhya Pradesh, received his IPL debut, replacing legspinner Vipraj Nigam. The other change saw Sameer Rizvi come in for Karun Nair, who had struggled after his early season heroics against Mumbai Indians.

PBKS, who are already in contention for a playoff spot, can secure their qualification with a win today. Meanwhile, DC, who need to win all their remaining games to stay in the playoff race, will be looking to turn things around despite recent struggles.
The weather is expected to remain humid with a slight chance of rain, which could make chasing more favorable later in the game, as noted by DC captain Axar Patel.
Here are the playing XIs for both teams:
- Delhi Capitals: Faf du Plessis, KL Rahul (wk), Abishek Porel, Sameer Rizvi, Axar Patel (capt), Tristan Stubbs, Madhav Tiwari, Mitchell Starc, Dushmantha Chameera, Kuldeep Yadav, T Natarajan
