Punjab Kings co-owner Ness Wadia publicly criticised Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis following the 2026 Indian Premier League auction, calling his conduct “not very professional.” Wadia’s comments came after Lucknow Super Giants bought Inglis for ₹8.6 crore (about AU$1.4 million) — a big jump from the ₹2.60 crore he earned last season with Punjab.
Inglis had informed his then-team late — reportedly just 45 minutes before the retention deadline — that he would be available for only about four games in the next IPL season due to his wedding plans, which limited his availability. Wadia said Punjab was left frustrated by the last-minute notice, calling it “not very fair” and “not very professional” given the importance of timely communication in franchise planning.
Despite the criticism, Wadia also acknowledged Inglis’s talent and wished him well — though he stressed that clearer communication would have been preferable for team management. Meanwhile, there’s speculation Inglis might still adjust his plans and play more matches than originally stated, potentially delaying his honeymoon to suit his IPL commitments.
Punjab Kings’ co-owner has expressed frustration at how Josh Inglis handled his IPL availability, labelling it unprofessional after the Australian star was snapped up for a big sum by Lucknow Super Giants.
