Punjab Kings vs Gujarat Titans Match Prediction: Who Will Win Today’s IPL Match Between PBKS And GT? IPL 2022, Match 16, PBKS vs GT. Punjab Kings is set to take on Gujarat Titans in TATA IPL 2022 in the 16th match on Friday, 08 April 2022 at 19:30 PM IST in the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. Punjab Kings have played 3 matches in the series and they are currently ranked fourth on the points table, while Gujarat Titans have played 2 matches in the series and are currently ranked third on the points table.

Gujarat Titans were touted to have one of the best bowling attacks in the competition before the season. Both the games that GT won this season were more due to their fantastic bowling performances that didn’t allow the opposition batsmen to get going at all. Though they have a weaker batting lineup, their bowling has made sure that the batting issues are masked big time.

The Punjab Kings will be looking to get wins early in their season. A win for the home team is the most probable outcome. Experience will come into play as the rookie team faces a veteran team in top form. The onus will be on the Ahmedabad-based franchise bowlers to put up a good show against the Punjab Kings’ batting line-up which looks superior on paper.

The probable opening pair of Jonny Bairstow and Shikhar Dhawan, followed by Mayank Agarwal and Liam Livingstone, form an enviable top-order. If Tamil Nadu’s hard-hitting batter Shahrukh Khan and West Indies’ all-rounder Odean Smith are added; Punjab Kings certainly has one of the most exciting batting line-ups in the tournament.

Gujarat Titans played with the same XI in both games. But Matthew Wade and Vijay Shankar are struggling with form and may be replaced by any two from the likes of Wriddhiman Saha, Rahmatullah Gurbaz, and Gurkeerat Mann Singh. R Sai Kishore may play in the place of injured Varun Aaron if he fails to recover in time.

Gujarat Titans – Player To Watch Out For

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill who has played 10 Tests and 3 ODI matches for India, will be eager to leave his mark in IPL 2022, as a good outing in the IPL can open doors for the Indian team as well. He was a regular starter for Kolkata Knight Riders since IPL 2018 and his role with Gujarat Titans will be to provide a good start to the team.

Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill remains one of the most promising openers in the league. Against Delhi Capitals in the ongoing IPL 2022, he scored a career-best 84 off only 46 balls studded with 6 fours and 4 sixes after getting dismissed without scoring against Lucknow.

Punjab Kings – Player To Watch Out For

Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada’s availability after missing the teams’ opening fixture against RCB due to international commitments and quarantine norms will provide Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) bowling a huge boost. He picked 2 scalps in as many games in IPL 2022. Punjab Kings played against Royal Challengers Bangalore without the likes of wicket-keeper batter Jonny Bairstow and fast bowler Kagiso Rabada.

Jonny Bairstow was playing the third West Indies vs England Test match in Grenada. Kagiso Rabada, on the other hand, had reached India after the culmination of a three-match ODI series between South Africa and Bangladesh. However, he missed the match due to a mandatory three-day quarantine period. Jonny Bairstow has still not featured in any of Punjab’s games so far.
