Rajasthan Royals spinner Adam Zampa withdraws from Indian Premier League 2024 Due to Personal Reasons

Rajasthan Royals spinner Adam Zampa

Rajasthan Royals faced a setback on Thursday when leg-spinner Adam Zampa decided to withdraw from the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) due to personal reasons.

Zampa, who was retained by Rajasthan Royals before last year’s auction for Rs 1.5 crore, has opted out following a busy season playing for Australia. His manager confirmed this to ESPNCricinfo.

The right-arm spinner was part of Rajasthan’s trio of spinners along with India’s Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.

Last season, he played six matches for the 2008 champions, taking eight wickets at an average of 23.50, with a notable performance of 3/22 in Rajasthan Royals’ victory against Chennai Super Kings.

Zampa’s withdrawal adds to Rajasthan’s bowling challenges, especially since they are already missing fast bowler Prasidh Krishna, who underwent surgery on his left proximal quadriceps tendon in late February, ruling him out of this year’s IPL.
