Rishabh Pant lit up Headingley with a performance for the ages, smashing centuries in both innings of the ongoing Test match against England. With scores of 134 in the first innings and 118 in the second, Pant has now joined an elite club of just two wicketkeepers in Test history to achieve twin centuries in a single match.
The only other name on that list? Andy Flower, who scored 141 and an unbeaten 199 for Zimbabwe against South Africa back in 2001.

He’s now the first Indian batter to score centuries in both innings of a Test in England—a feat no one from the country had achieved before. Globally, he becomes just the ninth visiting batter to do so, and the first since Steve Smith in 2019.
India’s Batting Blitz at Headingley
Pant’s brilliance was part of a larger batting masterclass from the Indian team. India registered five centuries in a single Test match—a first in their cricket history. Alongside Pant’s twin tons, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul also reached triple figures.
This rare feat of five centuries in a Test has occurred only six times in the history of the game, and India becomes just the second team after Australia in 1955 (Jamaica) to do so in an away Test.
