Former wicketkeeper-batter Robin Uthappa will captain the Indian team in the 2024 Hong Kong Cricket Sixes.
The Indian squad also includes well-known players like Kedar Jadhav, Stuart Binny, Manoj Tiwary, Shahbaz Nadeem, Bharat Chipli, and wicketkeeper Shreevats Goswami. India will aim to win the tournament for the second time, with their first win coming in 2005. The tournament, which began in 1992, is making a comeback this year after last being held in 2017.
Robin Uthappa and Team’s Journey to the 2024 Sixes
India will face 11 other teams in the competition, which will be played at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground. Teams participating include Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Hong Kong, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and the UAE. Over the years, cricket legends like Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, Shane Warne, Sachin Tendulkar, M.S. Dhoni, and Anil Kumble have taken part in this event. England and South Africa have each won the tournament five times.

Unique Format and Tournament Details
The Hong Kong Cricket Sixes has a special format where each team consists of six players. Each match lasts five overs per team. In the final match, each team will bowl five overs with eight balls per over instead of the usual six. Except for the wicketkeeper, all players must bowl one over. Wides and no-balls count for two runs. Batsmen retire after reaching 31 runs but can return once all others are out or retired.
