Sachin Tendulkar joins America's National Cricket League ownership group

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is set to join America’s National Cricket Ownership group, which aims to grow the sport of cricket in the USA in the coming years.

Tendulkar, known as one of the greatest cricketers, expressed his excitement about this opportunity. He said, “Cricket has been the biggest journey of my life, and I’m happy to join the National Cricket League (NCL) at such an exciting time for the sport in the US.”

The NCL’s goal is to build top-quality cricket facilities and attract new fans to the sport. Tendulkar added, “The NCL’s vision is to create a platform for world-class cricket and inspire a new generation of fans. I’m excited to be part of this initiative and to see cricket grow in the US firsthand.”

A league full of stars

The US cricket league will kick off with a performance by popular Bollywood singer Mika Singh, creating a lively, music festival-like atmosphere. This season will feature legendary cricketers like Sunil Gavaskar, Zaheer Abbas, Wasim Akram, Dilip Vengsarkar, Sir Vivian Richards, Venkatesh Prasad, and Sanath Jayasuriya, who will all be part of various coaching teams.

The league will also include well-known players such as Dinesh Karthik, Suresh Raina, Shahid Afridi, Shakib Al Hasan, Robin Uthappa, Tabraiz Shamsi, Chris Lynn, Angelo Mathews, Colin Munro, Sam Billings, Mohammad Nabi, and John Charles.

Sachin Tendulkar will present the trophy to the winning team at the end of the season.

NCL CEO Arun Agarwal expressed his excitement about Tendulkar’s involvement, saying, “We are incredibly excited to welcome Sachin Tendulkar to the National Cricket League family.”
