Sai Sudharsan Takes Back IPL 2025 Orange Cap from Kohli

The top of the IPL 2025 Orange Cap table is shifting rapidly, with the position of top run-scorer changing after almost every match. After a thrilling encounter between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT), Sai Sudharsan reclaimed his position as the leader in the run-getters’ list.

Orange Cap Update

Sai Sudharsan, the GT opener, moved back to the top spot with 456 runs from nine innings, after his 30-ball 39 against RR. While not his best innings, it was enough to push him 13 runs ahead of Virat Kohli (RCB), who has 443 runs, and 29 ahead of Suryakumar Yadav (MI), who has 427 runs.

Virat Kohli’s IPL stats continue to impress, but Sudharsan’s consistency has helped him regain the top spot. After the RR vs GT game, Yashasvi Jaiswal, RR’s opener, moved to No. 4 with 426 runs, while Jos Buttler, the GT No. 3, is at No. 5 with 406 runs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal’s IPL performance has been phenomenal, with his 70 not out in 40 balls contributing significantly to RR’s chase. Additionally, Nicholas Pooran (LSG) is the only other batter to have crossed 400 runs this season.

Purple Cap Update

With 421 runs scored in 35.5 overs during RR vs GT, the bowlers didn’t enjoy much success. However, Prasidh Krishna’s one wicket, that of Vaibhav Suryavanshi (after his explosive 101), took him to 17 wickets, just one behind Josh Hazlewood of RCB, who leads the Purple Cap standings.

Noor Ahmad of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) holds the No. 3 spot with 14 wickets, while Harshal Patel (SRH), Krunal Pandya (RCB), and Trent Boult (MI) have all taken 13 wickets this season.

Final Thoughts

As the IPL 2025 season progresses, the race for the Orange and Purple Caps continues to heat up. The ongoing statistics will be crucial in determining which players emerge as the top performers in this high-stakes tournament.
