It took 32 matches, but IPL 2025 finally has a new leader atop the Orange Cap table. Following Gujarat Titans’ (GT) dominant win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, B Sai Sudharsan has surged to the No. 1 spot in the run-scorers’ list. Meanwhile, Prasidh Krishna continues to reign atop the Purple Cap chart.
After holding the second spot for weeks, Sai Sudharsan’s 52 off 36 against KKR took him past the 400-run mark — a first in the tournament this season — dethroning Nicholas Pooran of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), who had topped the chart since Match 7
Orange Cap Leaderboard: Sai Sudharsan’s Steady Climb
Pooran, now second with 368 runs, will look to reclaim the cap when LSG face Delhi Capitals in Lucknow on Tuesday. His recent form has dipped, with scores of 8 and 11 in his last two outings.
Also climbing the charts is GT’s Jos Buttler, whose 41* against KKR has taken him to No. 3 with 345 runs. Shubman Gill, too, rocketed up the standings with a 90-run masterclass, moving into 7th place with 305 runs.

Other players in the 300-plus club include:
- Suryakumar Yadav (MI)
- Virat Kohli (RCB)
- Yashasvi Jaiswal (RR)
Purple Cap Leaderboard: Prasidh Krishna Pulls Ahead
There’s less volatility in the wicket-takers’ race. GT’s Prasidh Krishna, with 2 for 25 against KKR, extended his tally to 16 wickets — four ahead of the next-best.
GT’s R Sai Kishore and Mohammed Siraj both picked up a wicket each in the same match, taking their tallies to 12 wickets, tying with:
- Kuldeep Yadav (DC)
- Noor Ahmad (CSK)
- Josh Hazlewood (RCB)
- Shardul Thakur (LSG)
With both the Orange and Purple Cap races heating up, the upcoming fixtures could see more reshuffling at the top.
