Fuller the Better”: KKR’s Swing Plan Dismantles SRH’s Powerhouse Batting

The 2025 IPL season began with a bang, especially...

Rajasthan Royals (RR) captain expressed confidence in opener Yashasvi Jaiswal despite the batter’s poor start to IPL 2025. Jaiswal has recorded scores of 1, 29, and 4 in the first three matches. Ahead of RR’s fixture against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Mullanpur, Samson said Jaiswal has been training intensively and remains focused on scoring runs.

Jaiswal’s ten powerplay dismissals since 2024 place him joint-fourth on the IPL chart for that period. In the current season, he was caught at point against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), lofted one to long-on against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and chipped a catch to mid-off against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Rajasthan Royals have won one of their three matches so far. The upcoming game will mark Samson’s return as captain following a finger injury that had restricted him to the role of an Impact Player. During Samson’s absence from leadership duties, Riyan Parag led the team on the field.

Samson commented on the experience of watching matches from the dugout while recovering. He stated that he is now fully fit and will resume his regular duties, including wicketkeeping.

The conversation around home advantage in IPL 2025 has intensified, with players and coaches voicing concerns about neutral pitch conditions. Ajinkya Rahane, leading KKR, mentioned the Eden Gardens surface lacked expected turn. Stephen Fleming, head coach of CSK, reiterated long-standing concerns about Chennai not offering the spin-friendly wickets it is known for.
