Sarfaraz, known for celebrating his centuries in Sidhu Moosewala style, is now setting new fitness goals for young athletes and proving his commitment to the game.

How Did Sarfaraz Lose the Weight?

The transformation wasn’t overnight—it involved a disciplined and focused approach led by his father and coach, Naushad Khan. In May 2025, just before Sarfaraz was named in the India A squad for the England tour, Naushad shared details about their rigorous routine.

The cricketer’s diet underwent a massive overhaul. Staples like roti and rice were completely eliminated for over a month. In their place, Sarfaraz consumed a clean, protein-rich meal plan. His plate was filled with broccoli, carrots, cucumber, green salads, grilled chicken, boiled eggs, and boiled fish. Green tea and green coffee replaced sugary beverages, helping improve metabolism and fat loss.

A Stronger Comeback in Sight

Sarfaraz’s efforts aren’t just about appearances—they’re strategic. With the BCCI and selectors emphasizing fitness as much as talent, the 26-year-old has ensured he leaves no stone unturned in his bid for a Team India cap. His leaner frame could now make him a serious contender in future red-ball assignments, particularly after the ongoing England series.

Sarfaraz’s transformation goes beyond losing weight—it’s about resilience, mental strength, and the willingness to evolve. His story adds to a growing list of Indian athletes like Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli who’ve embraced fitness to improve performance.

As Sarfaraz continues to train and prove his mettle, fans and selectors alike are hopeful that this transformation is just the beginning of a long, successful international career.
