Mitchell Starc’s impressive three-wicket haul in Tuesday night’s match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has helped him climb to the fourth spot in the IPL 2025 Purple Cap race.

Josh Hazlewood of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continues to hold the top position in the bowling chart with 18 wickets from ten games. Gujarat Titans’ (GT) Prasidh Krishna follows closely with 17 wickets, while Noor Ahmad of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) remains in third place with 14 wickets.

Starc, now level with Noor Ahmad in terms of wickets, occupies the fourth position due to a slightly higher economy rate of 10.16, compared to Noor’s more economical 8.03. KKR’s Varun Chakravarthy, who took 2 for 39 in his recent outing, is in fifth place with 13 wickets, sharing the spot with a trio of bowlers: Trent Boult (Mumbai Indians), Krunal Pandya (RCB), and Harshal Patel (Sunrisers Hyderabad).

Orange Cap Race: Sudharsan Retakes the Lead

On the Orange Cap table, B Sai Sudharsan of Gujarat Titans leads the pack with 456 runs, closely followed by Virat Kohli of RCB (443) and Suryakumar Yadav of Mumbai Indians (427). Sudharsan, after briefly losing the top spot to Yadav and Kohli, has regained his position as the top run-scorer.

Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals (RR) is at No. 4 with 426 runs, while Jos Buttler of Gujarat Titans rounds off the top five with 406 runs.

As the competition heats up, these players continue to lead the charge in the race for both the Purple and Orange Caps, with the IPL 2025 season nearing its halfway point.
