Suryakumar and Boult Climb to No. 3 on Orange and Purple Cap Lists After MI’s Win

Mumbai Indians’ (MI) victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) on Wednesday, which sealed their playoff spot, also shook up the IPL 2025 Orange and Purple Cap leaderboards.

Orange Cap Update

Suryakumar Yadav starred with an unbeaten 73 off 43 balls on a slow pitch, helping MI reach a winning total. This innings took his season tally to 583 runs from 13 innings, moving him up to third place on the Orange Cap chart. KL Rahul added 11 runs and climbed to sixth with 504 runs from 12 matches. Gujarat Titans’ (GT) opening duo B Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill remain first and second with 617 and 601 runs respectively.

Purple Cap Update

MI left-arm pacer Trent Boult picked up 1 for 29 against DC, overtaking Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) Josh Hazlewood to move into third place on the Purple Cap list. Prasidh Krishna of GT continues to lead with 21 wickets, while Chennai Super Kings’ Noor Ahmad also has 21 wickets but sits second due to a higher economy rate.
